Tanini Home celebrates with Funky Table and the Art of Kintsugi
On Thursday, December 1st, at the Florentine store TaniniHome, we celebrated the arrival of Christmas with an evening dedicated to design, art and sustainability. A special occasion to start thinking about gifts and immerse yourself in the holiday atmosphere.
The star of the evening was Mariangela Negroni of Funky Table , who created original table settings using plates from the "La Tavola Scomposta" collection by Bitossi Home . In addition, she presented the Funky Table Gift Guide : a unique and creative selection of Christmas products to make your holiday table unforgettable.
Art came to life thanks to the performance of artist Gioia Di Biagio , who showed the technique of modern Kintsugi , repairing broken plates with a touch of gold. This ancient Japanese technique, born over 500 years ago, transforms imperfection into beauty, making each repaired object unique and precious. Gioia told the story of a Japanese shogun who, instead of throwing away his broken ceramic cup, decided to have it repaired, thus giving rise to Kintsugi: the art of repairing with gold, enhancing the cracks and making the object even more beautiful. During the event, guests had the opportunity to test themselves, creating small Kintsugi works guided by the artist herself. Given the enthusiasm, TaniniHome decided to launch the hashtag #kintsugiacasatua to invite everyone to experience this wonderful technique at home.
For those who want to try their hand at it, there is also a DIY Kintsugi kit available, perfect for repairing broken ceramics and discovering the beauty of imperfection, transforming every object into a work of art.
An inspiring evening that demonstrated how art, design and tradition can come together to create something unique, perfect for celebrating the holidays in style.
