Elected creator of the year Maison & Objet 2010, the Spaniard Jaime Hayon has become, in the space of a few years, the new idol of international design! His Pina armchair offers a graceful combination of materials. The legs in solid beech (natural or painted) are supported by a seat in steel wires with a very sophisticated padded effect. Thanks to an innovative technical process, the flexible metal gives the impression of having been knitted. The interwoven steel wires draw magnificent repeated geometric patterns. This perforated and balanced structure is incredibly ethereal. The padded effect of the steel mesh creates a surprising optical effect: the structure seems to be made of a "soft material" that could have been "inflated"!
